Schwerin (dpa / mv) - For the 5500 high school graduates in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the written exams in English begin this morning (8:00 a.m.).

There is no compulsory corona test before the start of the exam.

However, the students must wear a mouth and nose covering during the several hours of written examinations.

You will be given half an hour more than usual to complete the tasks.

Education Minister Bettina Martin (SPD) said that this was a request made by the state student council.

The tables are at least 1.50 meters apart to maintain the minimum corona distance.

Next week, the central written examinations for the secondary school leaving certificate will begin for around 6,100 schoolchildren in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
