About 50 people from Hiroshima and Nagasaki attended a meeting of representatives of the Japan Hidankyo (Japan Council of Atomic and Hydrogen Bomb Victims' Organizations) held in Tokyo on the 5th.



As the number of hibakusha continues to age, the conference focused on the following: ▽Towards 2025, the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Japan; Opinions were expressed that it would be necessary to hand over the management to the next generation by adding "Nisei" to the board of directors of Hidankyo.



There is also an appeal to the Japanese government to sign and ratify the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and an appeal to stop the use of nuclear weapons by Russia and to end the invasion of Ukraine as soon as possible in order to save mankind from the danger of nuclear weapons and war. , respectively, were adopted.



Japan Hidankyo will visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 6th and make a request for concrete efforts toward nuclear disarmament and abolition.
