At the 2021 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, there are heated discussions from all walks of life-

Helping to achieve "dual carbon" new energy vehicles also need "cross-border synergy"

On September 16, the 2021 World New Energy Vehicle Conference opened at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center.

Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Han Zheng attended the conference in Beijing via video and delivered a speech.

The reporter learned from the meeting that in 2020, the sales of new energy vehicles in major countries in the world will exceed 3.2 million, of which sales in China will reach 1.367 million, accounting for 5.4% of China's new car sales.

As of the end of 2020, the cumulative global sales of new energy vehicles exceeded 10 million, and China accounted for more than 50%.

Many people were deeply moved by the transcripts handed over by new energy vehicles.

Wan Gang, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology, recalled in the keynote report that, after nearly 10 years of research and development, my country’s new energy vehicles have entered the industrialization process since 2010, and the market penetration rate of new vehicle sales has been “from zero to 1%”. 1% to 5%", and then "from 5% to 10%", entering a stage of rapid market development with diversified users as the main body, and financial subsidies will gradually withdraw.

New energy vehicles usher in a comprehensive market-oriented breakthrough inflection point

Wan Gang said that the global market share of new energy vehicles has increased rapidly, especially in countries and regions represented by the European Union and China.

As the impact of the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation continues to deepen, cross-industry coordination has become an inevitable trend in industrial development. Quality development injects new kinetic energy.

“The automobile industry is facing tremendous pressure for low-carbon transformation. The carbon emissions of road traffic with automobiles as the main body account for about 20% of the total global carbon emissions. As an important part of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, Europe, the United States and Japan have introduced stricter new vehicle emission regulations, strengthened the R&D industry layout, and actively promoted the new energy vehicle industry.

Wang Xiaoqiu, president of SAIC Motor Corporation, believes that the "dual carbon" goal promotes the acceleration of industry transformation and brings new opportunities and challenges.

He said frankly that my country has just started to formulate targets and plan paths from the perspective of carbon emission reduction. It faces three challenges in terms of weak data statistics, increased difficulty in achieving carbon management and emission monitoring, and cost-to-value conversion. "Although policy is important in the initial stage The driving force, but the choice of market users is the long-term decisive force to realize the vision of carbon neutrality."

Bringing together a powerful technology synergy for carbon emission reduction in the automotive industry

How can the automobile industry help achieve carbon peak and carbon neutrality?

Xiang Libin believes that it is necessary to promote energy conservation and emission reduction throughout the entire life cycle of the automotive industry through a systematic thinking and collaborative approach.

Through the National Science and Technology Plan, the Ministry of Science and Technology has systematically deployed carbon-reduction and zero-carbon technologies such as smart manufacturing, renewable energy, advanced energy storage and smart grids, third-generation semiconductors, green recycling and reuse of materials, and smart transportation, and coordinated promotion of integration. Demonstration of integrated applications, a powerful technological synergy that supports carbon emission reduction in the automotive industry.

Not only that, our country also regards vigorously developing power batteries as the main direction of attack, and insists on the direction of intelligence.

During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Science and Technology will fully support the research of all-solid-state power batteries and the research and development of bottleneck technologies such as power battery thermal diffusion safety.

At the same time, relying on relevant special projects, we will comprehensively increase support for the intelligent, connected, and shared new energy vehicles.

"Fuel cell vehicles are an important application carrier of hydrogen energy in the transportation field. The vigorous development of hydrogen energy and fuel cell technology has a significant role in promoting carbon emission reduction." Xiang Libin revealed that my country's current fuel cell vehicles have achieved thousand-level applications. , In the future, it will realize ten-thousand-vehicle applications.

In the next step, the Ministry of Science and Technology will focus on the research and development of key technologies for high-power and long-life commercial vehicle fuel cell systems, break through the life, cost, and reliability problems faced by fuel cell industrialization, and coordinate the development of hydrogen energy full-chain technology research and focus on solving green problems. Hydrogen storage and long-distance storage problems.

In response to the automobile industry’s move towards carbon neutrality, Wan Gang puts forward four suggestions: first, strengthen joint research and academic exchanges on carbon neutral technologies in the fields of new energy vehicle products, energy supply, material supply, manufacturing, transportation and travel; secondly, strengthen The upstream and downstream collaboration of the industrial chain and the recycling of key materials will jointly maintain the stability, perfection and development of the global industrial chain supply chain; again, explore the international mutual recognition of low-carbon certification standards for complete vehicles and key parts and components, and promote the development of automotive product carbon emission information Connectivity; finally, establish a cooperation and dialogue mechanism for the global auto industry in low-carbon management policies and other fields, and form a low-carbon management mechanism for international auto trade with fairness as the principle and coordination as the core.

The conference was hosted by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Hainan Provincial People’s Government, and the Ministry of Science and Technology. It focused on the theme of “promoting marketization in an all-round way, accelerating cross-industry integration, and working together to achieve carbon neutrality”. More than 1,000 representatives from 15 countries and regions passed Conduct exchanges and discussions in a combination of online and offline methods.
