The alarm was received at 16:30 on Wednesday.
- It was two people who called almost at the same time that they saw pillars of smoke from a distance, says the rescue service's management operator.
Six fire trucks are on site, but because it is burning in the middle of the forest, the firefighters on the ground have not managed to get to the flames.
The extinguishing work is instead taking place from the air with the help of two helicopters from MSB, which were sent from Oskarshamn.
- There are no buildings nearby, so right now there is no risk of spreading.
The helicopters have had a good effect, says the management operator.
The fire is said to be 125 meters by 150 meters, according to the rescue service.
