Germany has secured the victory in the main round group I and will meet Norway in the semi-finals. Against Spain won the DHB selection 31:30 (17:16). National coach Christian Prokop changed his team against the reigning European champions - and the players from the supposedly second row took their chance. Best German thrower was Fabian Böhm with five hits.

Germany was already qualified for the semi-finals before the game against Spain. The defeat of France against Croatia (20:23), the DHB team could have lost even with seven goals - and would still group winner. Accordingly, Prokop rotated a lot in the game.

In a scoring first half, the Spaniards scored the first goal. After that, however, it was the German team's turn first. It took almost 20 minutes for Spain to take the lead for the second time (10:11). In addition to the beefy circle runner Julen Aguinagalde presented above all the Spanish left wing Ángel Fernández the German defense problems.

In the German team, Tim Suton, who was heavily injured in the knee injury of Martin Strobel, was particularly impressive. With courageous forays to the circle he scored four strong hits. Besides Suton, Böhm was also convincing.

In the second half, Germany quickly made it 21:18 (38 '). The formative roles again took over the players who had come against Croatia on very little time. Goalkeeper Silvio Heinevetter, for example, held up strongly - and Uwe Gensheimer's left-back backup Matthias Musche also blended seamlessly into the strong German team performance.

In the final phase Germany came to easy goals in the second wave. Spain did not manage to turn the game. Spain's Ferran Sole Sala alone brought Spain closer. His eight goals were not enough to catch up.
