This came during his visit to the "Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center", where His Highness reviewed the developments of work within the framework of the new strategy of the center 2021-2031 and the steps and projects it contains aimed at translating the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and President of the State Cabinet and Ruler of Dubai, regarding the future of the UAE space sector, the state’s contributions in the field of space science and research, and ways to consolidate its regional leadership, and strengthen its global position in this field.   

During the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai was briefed on the details of the "Emirates Moon Exploration Project" launched by His Highness the Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai last week to add a new scientific achievement that strengthens the position of the UAE and the Arab region in general in the field of space exploration and its sciences by launching the explorer "Rashid "As part of the first step of its kind in the Arab world, the UAE will be the fourth in the world in an attempt to obtain new information about the moon;

And to identify places on its surface that humans have not been able to discover.

During the visit, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai expressed his pride in the Emirati team working on the project and everyone who participates in its implementation, and his appreciation for the great work the team is doing with the contributions of a group of young national scientific minds and competencies who managed to put the name of the UAE on the map of major space projects, stressing His Highness is confident in the ability of the people of the Emirates to continue to present achievements with which our country participates in finding new formulas and perceptions for a better future for the region and the world, with their scientific and knowledge repertoire and the determination and insistence they possess that the vocabulary of progress, success and excellence is always the most prominent and most present in the country's dictionary UAE.

Explorer's preparations

His Highness was informed of the team of the Emirates Mission to explore the Moon about the preparations of the work team to start designing and developing the explorer, which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, named "Rashid" after the name of the late builder of Dubai. It is worth noting that the "Emirates Lunar Exploration Project" is part of the "Mars 2117" strategy initiatives aimed at building the first human settlement on Mars.
