The announcement came during the activities of the innovation lab "bicycles is a lifestyle", which was organized by the Dubai Police General Command in "Cycle Hub", Jumeirah Dubai, in cooperation with its strategic partners in the Executive Council of the Government of Dubai, the Dubai Public Prosecution, the Supreme Committee for Legislation, the Roads and Transport Authority, and the Council Dubai Sports, the Department of Economic Development, the Emirates Cycling Federation, the Dubai Municipality, the Federal Insurance Authority, as well as the organizers of bike events and real estate development partners in relation to bike lanes, with the participation of the Board of Directors of Dubai Police Centers, the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and bike suppliers.

Participants called for the need to prepare a guide to educate bikers about safety guidelines, implement educational awareness campaigns, and obligate driving education institutes to train applicants for a license to give priority to bicycles, in addition to studying the possibility of bicycle insurance, and engaging the community in promoting local activities for bicycles, and educating people. They recommended the necessity of legislative integration between the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law, local administrative decisions regarding the use of bicycles, the compatibility of the infrastructure for the use of bicycles with the legislation in force in this regard, and ensuring the provision of the opportunity to use bicycles safely and securely in all regions of the Emirate of Dubai.
