Hamdan bin Mohammed congratulates the winners of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity in its 11th session

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, patron of the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity", congratulated the winners of the eleventh cycle of the award, one of the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives", who They will gather at Expo 2020 Dubai tomorrow, Sunday, from the UAE, the Arab region and the world to honor them with the award’s largest award in terms of the value of its awards and the diversity of its categories, while being the first of its kind in the field of sports creativity.

His Highness said: "Sincere congratulations to all the winners of this cycle of the award.. We appreciate all of them for their efforts that they have contributed to advancing the march of sports development, each in its field, whether in the UAE or around the world.. Dubai will always be the sponsor of creativity in all its forms and forms. Based on the belief of its wise leadership in its value in achieving a better quality of life, especially in the field of sports, which it also gives all care and attention. In implementation of the vision of the wise leadership, the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity", since its launch in 2009, has continued to honor the creative contributions in sports, both at the individual level, including players, coaches, referees and administrators from the UAE and the Arab world, as well as honoring Emirati and Arab teams and sports institutions. To achieve the desired development of the sports sector by motivating all those concerned with it, whether within the country or from around the world, to continue to follow the approach of excellence.

Honoring the winners of the eleventh cycle of the "Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity" coincides with the meeting of delegations from 192 countries at Expo 2020 Dubai to share the most outstanding achievements in various fields, united by one goal of creating the future. The ceremony also comes in the wake of the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the union and the golden jubilee of the founding of the UAE. The award took the initiative to celebrate this occasion by issuing a coin bearing the image of the patron of creativity and innovators, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in cooperation with the Central Bank of the Emirates, in addition to issuing a commemorative stamp in cooperation with Emirates Post .    

For his part, Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees, extended his sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, sponsor of the award, and to His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Committee The National Olympic Committee Chairman of the Award, for the wise guidance and great care that enabled the Award to become the most important and largest sports award and to play its leading role in stimulating the development efforts of the sports sector in the UAE, the Arab region and the world.

He added: "We were not satisfied with waiting for the athletes, teams and institutions to achieve their achievements and then honoring them at the ceremony. Rather, we worked to spread the concepts of creativity in sports work through many initiatives, including choosing an axis for institutional competition for each session, which motivates local, Arab and international sports institutions to intensify their efforts." In that field, whether it is supporting women’s sports, strengthening governance in sports work, or efforts to empower communities through sports, and many other initiatives that support efforts to develop the sports sector.”

The Chairman of the Award’s Board of Trustees concluded by saying: “In this session, we took into account changing the date of organizing the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo from 2020 to 2021. From the award to the athletes before the start of the two sessions to motivate them to shine and work to reach the honors podium in the current session.”

Tomorrow, Sunday, at the Expo 2020 Dubai Convention and Exhibition Center, a ceremony will be held honoring the winners of the 11th session of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Sports Creativity, in the presence of a group of distinguished local and international sports personalities, and a selection of creative winners in the individual, collective and institutional categories, including the most important Arab champions who They shined at the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Tokyo.

The award also continues to celebrate sports innovators from the UAE by honoring six young athletes, in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, where their final rank was determined from first to sixth through two elements. They are: the jury’s decision and the audience’s vote, at a rate of 50 percent for each.
