In the so-called "Hakamada Incident," the prosecution argues against the new appraisal results submitted by the defense at the Tokyo High Court regarding the retrial and re-trial requested by Mr. Iwao Hakamada, who was sentenced to death. Showed the posture.

Iwao Hakamada (85) was sentenced to death in 1966 in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, where four members of his family were killed, but he has filed a retrial for innocence.

On the 22nd, a private discussion was held by the court, a lawyer, and the prosecution, and the defense team held a press conference after the discussion.

In this case, one year after Mr. Hakata's arrest, clothing with blood stains was found in the miso tank near the scene, and it was said that Mr. Hakata was wearing it at the time of the crime, but the defense team has been wearing miso for over a year. The redness of the clothes soaked in miso should disappear, claiming to be evidence of forgery.

This month, the lawyers submitted a new expert opinion that the blood component "hemoglobin" will undergo a chemical reaction when it comes in contact with such a component, and the redness will disappear within a few weeks. According to the group, at the talks on the 22nd, the prosecution showed a willingness to refute the appraisal results.

The prosecution is expected to submit a written opinion based on the opinions of experts by the end of February next year.

At the press conference, Mr. Hakata's older sister Hideko said, "I have been fighting for more than 50 years, so I don't think it's been a long time. I'll do my best to approve the retrial."
