After the arrest last week of his colleagues Foniké Mengué and Ibrahima Diallo, and the closure of the premises of the FNDC, it was the movement's strategy manager, Sékou Koundouno, who took over.

In a press conference by Zoom, the activist, currently in Belgium, declared the suspension of the truce, decided a week earlier in agreement with the current president of ECOWAS Umaro Sissoco Embaló.

A request which followed the

demonstration of last July 28

and the consecutive violence which left at least five dead.

In its standoff against the junta of Colonel-President Mamadi Doumbouya, accused of wanting to settle in power, the FNDC announces a series of gradual actions from next week.

We wrote to the current president of ECOWAS to announce the end of the truce this Friday at 10 p.m., explains the communication manager, Abdoulaye Oumou Sow.

We believe that nothing has been done to bring socio-political actors around the table to discuss the content and duration of the transition.

So, from Monday, we are going to announce the various actions that we are going to carry out, but also the dates and nature of the demonstrations that we intend to carry out from now on to face this new dictatorship which is settling in our country.
