This is the second visit in just five weeks.

Four European parliamentarians are going to Tunis from this Monday for a three-day mission.

Last month, four MEPs had already made the trip to see the evolution of the political situation in the country.

They then called for the opening of a truly inclusive debate before the legislative elections next December.

Already last October, European parliamentarians had called on “the Tunisian president to restore the work of the Assembly of People's Representatives and to guarantee the rule of law”.

This time, the deputies want to take stock of the situation in terms of human rights but also governance when President Kaïs Saïed assumed full powers last July.
