In Mali, Burkina, Niger and Mauritania, more than 10 million people are at risk of facing a food crisis during the lean season which starts in a few weeks.
In addition to the conflicts, there is a severe drought.
This is the alert issued by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), which believes that the humanitarian response is not enough and that development work must continue in these areas.
Patrick Youssef, Africa director of the ICRC, is the guest of Pierre Pinto.
