[Explanation] February 9 this year is the 138th anniversary of the birth of Chen Shuren, a painter of the Lingnan School of Painting.

On the same day, the "Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Art Works Joint Exhibition" opened in Guangzhou.

Painters from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao jointly exhibited nearly 40 Chinese paintings.

In his early years, he traveled east to Japan to study, and his representative works include "Spring in the South of the Five Ridges", "Kapok" and "Flying Waterfall in Dinghu Lake".

  [Commentary] Li Jinkun, chairman of the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said that on the occasion of the 138th anniversary of Chen Shuren's birth, it is particularly meaningful for famous Chinese painters from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao to review Chen Shuren's achievements in the development of Guangdong art.

He mentioned that Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan have formed their own paths and promoted each other in the process of cultural development due to their geographical differences.

The Lingnan School of Painting is also very popular in Macau.

Macau is a place where China and the West combine. It has strong Portuguese-style things and British things, but its traditional culture is still deeply rooted.
