The crowd that gathered for the Fridays for Futures climate event in Glasgow cheered when Greta Thunberg spoke.
- COP26 is a failure, said Greta Thunberg.
She went on to call the meeting a global "greenwash festival".
The Swedish climate activist also said that she is tired of commitments that are full of loopholes and does not take into account aspects such as historical emissions and climate justice.
- What is required for those in power to wake up?
We need no more empty promises, and that's all we get.
Greta Thunberg also questioned how effective the previous climate summits have been.
- They have had 26 meetings.
They have had decades of "blah blah blah" - and where has that taken us?
