Idar-Oberstein (dpa / lrs) - The Rhineland-Palatinate Greens want to adopt the program for the state elections at their corona-related first digital party congress.

The final vote on the roughly 100-page draft is expected this evening.

Top candidate and family minister Anne Spiegel had sworn her party to the election campaign on Saturday afternoon: "Let's fight together for a strong green result on March 14th."

The Greens want to stay on the government bench.

They are currently forming a traffic light coalition with the SPD and FDP in Rhineland-Palatinate.

According to Spiegel, the Greens want to campaign for more climate and nature protection, more renewable energies and a “mobility revolution” with more and better linked cycle paths, revitalized disused railway lines and a 365-euro ticket for local public transport. It is also about more all-day schools and more healthy school meals. The party leadership controls the digital two-day party congress from Idar-Oberstein. Around 200 delegates join in from their living rooms and work rooms across the country.
