The funeral of lawyer and feminist figure Gisèle Halimi, who died Tuesday at the age of 93, will take place on Thursday August 6 in Paris, her family announced on Wednesday.

“The funeral will take place on Thursday 6” at the end of the morning at the Père-Lachaise cemetery, said one of his three sons, Jean-Yves Halimi. A national tribute could be paid at the start of the school year. Discussions "are underway", he added.

The release of her latest book, Une ferouche Liberté , written with Le Monde journalist Annick Cojean, in which she looks back on "70 years of fighting", has been brought forward to August 19 instead of September 16 as originally planned, announced its publisher Grasset.
