Swedish long jumper Thobias Montler shows budding form ahead of this summer's WC in the USA.

On Thursday, he struck with an impressive 8.27 - at the International Jumping Meeting competition in Kallithea, Greece.

This means that the 26-year-old touches his personal best outdoors.

Indoors, Montler's personal best is at 8.38.

Became second

However, hope in Greece was not enough for victory.

It took Murali Sreeshankar, from India, home with a sharp 8.31.

Earlier this spring, Montler took World Cup silver indoors (8.38).

The Outdoor World Cup starts on July 15.
