The end of summer comes with good news for our country.

After a start of the campaign with doubts about the Delta variant of Covid and the increase in cases, our

main emitting countries

are removing Spain from their lists of risk areas.

Today it has been

Germany, the

second issuing market, which has announced that Spain will no longer be on the list of high-risk countries by Covid, according to a report by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which is responsible for disease control in the country, reports Europa Press.

This means that

unvaccinated travelers returning to Germany from Spain will no longer have to quarantine

or present a negative coronavirus test upon entry.

Weeks ago, the

United Kingdom also eliminated the obligation to quarantine

vaccinated citizens returning from our country.

The British market was the main one for Spain before the pandemic.

Although the arrival of foreign tourists this summer is still 50% below the 2019 figures, the tourism sector hopes to be able to extend the summer a little, until the end of September or even October, and thus attract international tourists who have not come so far because of the various restrictions.

In July, foreign passenger arrivals to Spain were 41% lower than in the same month of the prepandemic year, according to data from Turespaña.

This coming week, the INE's international arrivals data will be released.

In the case of the United Kingdom, Spain is still in the amber zone.

According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), high-risk areas are areas where the cumulative incidence exceeds 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, and in Spain the cumulative incidence at seven days does not exceed 100 cases for each 100,000 inhabitants in most regions.
