The penultimate of the German Championship, Werder Bremen fell heavily at home against Eintracht Frankfurt (3-0) and missed an opportunity to leave the relegation zone on Wednesday evening in a late match of the 29th day.

Portuguese striker André Silva, loaned to Eintracht by AC Milan, scored the first goal of the match (60th), from the head to the reception of a center left side of the Filip Kostic Serb.

This is the eighth goal of the Bundesliga season for Silva, 24, who has already scored in three of his last four games since the league resumed.

Austrian midfielder Stefan Ilsanker took on the challenge just after coming into play (81st) before reoffending to get a double (90th).

This success allows the Frankfurt club to overtake Cologne and take the eleventh place.

Werder Bremen remains the penultimate. A victory would have allowed him to overtake the potential barrister Düsseldorf to rise to Mainz, the first non-relegation.
