Düsseldorf, 16th in the Bundesliga roadblocker position, dropped precious points on Sunday in Cologne, conceding a 2-2 draw in overtime after leading 2-0 to the 88th minute.

After this Rhine derby which closed the 27th day, the second since the resumption in camera of the German championship on May 16, the Fortuna (24 pts) remains three lengths behind the first non-relegable Mainz (27 pts).

At the bottom of the ranking, Bremen (21 pts) and the promoted Paderborn (18 pts) are in great difficulty.

Kenan Karaman (41st) and Erik Thommy (61st) thought they would give victory to Düsseldorf, a team rebounded in the first division in 2018. But the Frenchman Anthony Modeste reduced the gap at the very end of the match for Cologne, by marking his second goal of the season (2-1, 88th), before the Colombian Jhon Cordoba equalized (90 + 1).

Cologne, after a bad start to the season followed by a phase of euphoria, is currently comfortably seated in the middle of the table, in tenth place with 34 points, but there are seven games left before the end of the championship and all the teams above all hope to avoid a negative spiral at the end of the course, in the special atmosphere of matches behind closed doors and the health protection measures which supervise them.
