Bayer Leverkusen and Freiburg, victorious over Augsburg (4-1) and Stuttgart (3-2) on Saturday for the third day of the Bundesliga, temporarily took the lead in the championship, a duo that Bayern Munich could join at the end of the day in case of victory against Hertha Berlin.
With seven points, the two teams are one step ahead of a quartet of six-point teams: Dortmund, Cologne, Mainz and Wolfsburg.
Leverkusen, who had already scored four goals against Mönchengladbach last weekend, did it again on the Augsburg lawn, with two quick goals scored against their side by Iago (4th) and Florian Niederlechner (14th), before Patrik Schick (74th) and the young Florian Wirtz (81st) do not complete the success of Bayer.
In the meantime, Niederlechner had pushed the ball into the net, opposing this time, after a mess between the former Paris player SG Mitchel Bakker and his goalkeeper (30th).
The score could even have been heavier, with a goal denied for striker Moussa Diaby (42nd), called Thursday for the first time with the France team, a bar from Schick (87th) and a post from Amine Adli (88th), arrived this week from Toulouse.
Freiburg, who trapped Dortmund 2-1 on Matchday 2, was initially impressive on the Stuttgart pitch, scoring three goals in less than half an hour, including a brace from South Korean midfielder Woo -Yeong Jeong (3rd, 9th) and a third goal from Lucas Holer (28th).
But the Black Forest club was scared when Stuttgart returned to the game in less than two minutes at the end of the first period (45th, 45 + 2nd), then pushed, in vain, in the second period.
In the other matches, Arminia Bielefeld and Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1-1, Cologne beat Bochum 2-1 and Mainz beat Greuther Fürth 3-0.
Bayern Munich has the opportunity to take back the lead in the championship if it wins at the Allianz Arena against Hertha Berlin (6.30 p.m.), the championship's red lantern.
