An assortment of starters, including gazpacho, sardines, croquettes, spherical olives and kikos with guacamole, and hake with meunière sauce as the main course make up
the dinner menu that the king and queen are offering
tonight at the Royal Palace in Madrid to the
leaders attending the NATO summit
in Madrid.
The banquet, scheduled for 8:30 p.m., will gather 60 guests in the Gala Dining Room around the imperial table, including more than
40 heads of state and government
and some consorts.
The menu has been commissioned from the Madrid chef
Paco Roncero
, who is going to open with a cast of
thirteen appetizers
, sources from the Casa del Rey have reported.
The list of starters includes spherical olives;
red tuna brioche with old mustard;
sea bass ceviche with tiger milk;
picaña airbag;
lobster with oil soup and pink grapefruit;
shrimp omelette;
marinated sardine with romescu sauce;
glazed beef taco and smoked salmon gilda.
There are also shrimp croquettes with garlic;
kikos with guacamole;
cod fritter and gazpacho with basil oil.
As
a main course
, the leaders will savor
hake with tapioca meunière sauce
and trout roe, and for dessert, coconut foam with mint and passion fruit granita.
The menu is accompanied by red, white and sparkling wine, as well as water.
Before dinner, the king and queen go to greet their leaders and spouses in the
Throne Room
and then take a family photo in the
Hall of Alabarderos
