Xie Xinmiao, 47 years old this year, has been teaching fine arts in a middle school for 26 years.

In the past five years, he has used the most common pen and paper to create more than 100 pen drawings.

  The gray tiles on the white wall and the cracks on the wall, as well as the shadow of the tree projected on the white wall, give us a feeling that time is passing. Only the truth can move people. Then the landscape paintings I paint now, Basically, most of them are based on the ancient house.

  [Explanation] Mountain fields, small bridges and running water; farmers carrying water, children rolling iron hoops, etc. These common life scenes in the past, Xie Xinmiao has carefully restored them on his drawing paper.

In his early years, Xie Xinmiao studied Chinese painting. Because he had a soft spot for old buildings, he tried to use pen to be realistic and painted several old buildings in Cangshan, Fuzhou.

In an exhibition, these pen paintings were well received by the audience, and he began to switch to a relatively niche pen painting creation.

  Because of its age, it makes us young people have a sense of distance from it. Therefore, when I create these pen drawings, I pay attention to some interesting things that we have experienced when we were young, young or in the past. His activities integrate it into the picture, so that the ancient house also adds more life to it, makes the old cultural relics add a fresh life to it, and also draws the distance between our audience and the painting.

  [Explanation] Xie Xinmiao must first determine the theme every time before starting to create, and after careful conception and collection of materials, he begins to write.

Pen painting cannot be splashed with ink and color on a large scale like freehand Chinese painting, nor can it be painted and modified. It can only use solid basic skills and peaceful mentality, using various line strokes, through interspersed combinations, to portray the shape, mood and emotion of the scene. .

Xie Xinmiao told reporters that the creation process of pen drawings is very hard. For small paintings of eight sizes, each one takes 3-7 days.

  Basically, before painting, the complete rendering of your entire painting has been presented in your mind. Then, in this case, we can express the painting very freely.

There are so many aspects of the humanities, history, folk customs and so on that carry too much of our local Fuzhou. As a literary and art worker, you have to spend more time digging and researching in it. Creation, let us create more and better works for our friends, let everyone pay attention to understand our cultural relics, understand our context, and let each of us be the inheritor of our local culture.
