FSB has identified a Hizb ut-Tahrir cell in two regions of Russia

This is reported by the DSP of the FSB.

"The FSB in the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass and the Novosibirsk region, in cooperation with the Federal Service of the National Guard of Russia, suppressed the activities of the cell of the international terrorist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir al-Islami," the statement says.

It is noted that the members of the cell conducted anti-constitutional activities based on the doctrine of the creation of the so-called world caliphate, the destruction of the institutions of a secular society and aimed at overthrowing the current government by violent means.

At the places of residence of the detained persons, propaganda materials of the group, communication facilities and electronic media, prohibited in Russia, were found and seized.

Investigative departments of the security agencies have initiated criminal cases.

Earlier, the activities of the Hizb ut-Tahrir cell * were suppressed in the Kaluga region.
