  In May, the national general public budget revenue increased by 18.7% year-on-year and 6.8% year-on-year.

The Ministry of Finance explained that the rapid year-on-year growth rate was mainly due to the incomparable factors of the same period last year and the current rise in the price index of industrial producers. It also reflects the remarkable results of China's economic recovery.

  From the perspective of tax revenue, cumulatively from January to May, national tax revenue increased by 25.5% year-on-year, which was an increase of 6.8% over the same period in 2019.

Among them, domestic value-added tax increased by 24% year-on-year, corporate income tax increased by 21.8% year-on-year, domestic consumption tax increased by 16.6% year-on-year, personal income tax increased by 25.9% year-on-year, and import tax revenue increased by 28.7% year-on-year.

  In terms of non-tax revenue, cumulatively from January to May, the national non-tax revenue increased by 16.2% year-on-year.

Among them, the restorative growth of additional income from education fees levied with value-added tax and consumption tax has led to the growth of special income, and the strengthening and standardization of the management of the paid use of state-owned resources (assets) in various regions has led to an increase in related income.   The Ministry of Finance also announced that the total national general public budget expenditures from January to May were 9355.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.6%.

Among them, the central general public budget expenditures at this level after deducting part of the expenditure allocation time dropped by 3.3% compared with last year's delayed factors, and non-urgent non-rigid expenditures continued to be reduced; local general public budget expenditures increased by 5.8% year-on-year.

The national financial "three guarantees" and other key expenditures have grown rapidly. Education expenditures increased by 12.1%, social security and employment expenditures increased by 6.6%, and health expenditures increased by 4.7%.

  The data released by the Ministry of Finance on the same day also showed that from January to May, the national government fund budget revenue was 2,970.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 25.6%.

Among them, the income from the transfer of local state-owned land use rights was 2,612.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.9%.
