Minister of Civil Affairs Li Jiheng revealed at the press conference that in the development of elderly care services, from 2012 to 2020, the central government has invested a total of 27.1 billion yuan to support the construction of elderly service facilities.
As of the end of 2020, the total number of various elderly care institutions and facilities has reached 329,000, with 8.21 million beds. The total number of beds has increased by 97% over 2012.
The old-age allowance, pension service subsidy, and disabled elderly care subsidy benefited 3,1044,000, 5.35 million, and 813,000 elderly people, respectively.
