Andersson Hed became a professional in 1992 and competed on the European Tour until 2015. A career that was crowned by the victory in the 2010 Italian Open and two titles on the Challenge Tour.

After finishing his playing career, Andersson Hed worked, among other things, as an expert commentator for SVT Sport.

He fell asleep last night after the suites of his cancer ", writes his wife Anna on Fredrik's Facebook account.

The European Tour apologizes

The European tour also regrets Andersson Hed's death:

“From the European Tour, I send our deepest condolences to Fredrik's family and friends, especially his wife Anna and children Viggo and Molly.

It is always very sad to lose a member of the European Tour's family, and not least when, as in Fredrik's case, someone passed away far too soon ", writes the European Tour's chairman Keith Waters in a statement.

Fredrik Andersson Hed was born in Halmstad in 1972 and turned 49 years old.
