The three suspected cases of Covid-19 within the Olympique de Marseille team have been confirmed, the club announced on Twitter on Tuesday morning, threatening the holding of the opening match of the 2020-2021 season of the France Friday against Saint-Etienne.

After the case announced Thursday, this brings to 4 the number of cases within OM, the threshold from which the Professional Football League (LFP) can decide to postpone a match. OM announces on Twitter to have "transmitted all the elements to the LFP".

The League's Covid Commission should meet again on Tuesday, after a first meeting on the subject Monday to study the holding of the OM - AS Saint-Etienne match, scheduled for Friday at 17:00 GMT at the Vélodrome stadium to open the first day of the League 1.

For its part, Nîmes Olympique announced two new suspected cases in its professional group and all its employees were placed in solitary confinement pending further tests.

The Nîmes club had received Marseille on August 9 in a friendly match (0-1).
