It has been confirmed that the law firm to which former Prosecutor General Kim Su-nam belonged signed an advisory contract with Hwacheon Daeyu, an asset management company for the development project in Daejang-dong, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.

From September 2019 to June last year, Hwacheon Daeyu signed a legal advisory and management advisory contract with the law firm where former President Kim worked.

Former Prosecutor General Kim served as the Prosecutor General from 2015 to 2017 and served as a representative lawyer for a law firm in mid-2019 before moving to a large law firm in July of last year.

Former President Kim explained, "I have never signed an advisory contract with Hwacheon Daeyu as an individual."

He continued, "We signed a 'legal advisory and management advisory contract' between the law firm that we belonged to in the past and Hwacheon Daeyu, but the advisory fees were deposited into the corporate account and used as the company's operating funds. The advisory contract was made within the legal scope,” he added.

In addition to Kim's side, Hwacheon Daeyu is known to have signed advisory contracts with former Supreme Court Justice Kwon Soon-il, former Special Prosecutor Park Young-soo, and former Suwon District Prosecutor Kang Chan-woo.

It is reported that Lee Seong-moon, CEO of Hwacheon Daeyu, is in a position to explain legal issues during the investigation process.
