On the morning of the 19th, the prosecution raided the office of the Fusion Technology Center of Hanyang University, where former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Baek Un-gyu served as a professor.

This is the first time that the prosecution has conducted a forced investigation against former Minister Baek during the investigation into the blacklist allegation by the Ministry of Industry.

Prosecutors' investigators are known to have secured data such as e-mail details stored on the PC of former Minister Baek through a search and seizure that lasted about two hours.

[(Please tell me what you focused on today's search and seizure.)...

Former Minister Paik directly observed the search and seizure process accompanied by an attorney.

In response to a reporter's question about whether he forced the head of an agency under the Moon Jae-in government to resign, former Minister Baek responded as follows:

[Baek Un-gyu / Former Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy: We were instructed that way, and we moved and did not...

.

I want to tell you that we handled our work while always complying with the laws and regulations.]

He said it was regrettable that former Vice Minister Lee In-ho and other executives of the Ministry of Industry at the time were being summoned and investigated one after another.

[Baek Un-gyu / Former Minister of Industry: I am very sorry.

I think that everything will come out well because I am diligent in the investigation.]

Today's search and seizure were conducted not only in this office, but also in the home of former Minister Paik and six organizations affiliated with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

After analyzing the data obtained through all-round seizure and search, the prosecution plans to summon former Minister Baek as a suspect soon for investigation.
