The rescue team from Southwest Finland consists of 17 people.

The team includes voluntary fire brigades from Jäkärlä FBK, S: t Karins FBK and Loimaa HOBK, ie a semi-ordinary fire brigade, reports Swedish Yle.

It is burning on an approximately 300 hectare area in Kalajoki in Northern Ostrobothnia.

The increasing wind increases the risk that the fire can spread.

The forest fires in Kalajoki are the largest in Finland since the 1970s, according to Yle.
