Firefighting authorities are working to extinguish a forest fire in Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do during the day of today (8th).
According to the Central Forest Fire Prevention Countermeasure Headquarters of the Korea Forest Service, a forest fire broke out in Sangan-ri, Anheung-myeon, Hoengseong-gun, Gangwon-do, around 12:12 pm today.
The forestry authorities said they are urgently putting in two forest fire extinguishing helicopters and 31 extinguishing personnel to extinguish the fire.
The specific damage situation has not been identified yet.
The Countermeasures Headquarters said, "We are putting all our efforts into the evolution of the new evening," and "Please refrain from entering the mountain and beware of safety accidents."
The headquarters added that a wind of 3.2m per second is blowing at the current forest fire site.
