For the fourth time in a row .. "American Women" crowned the Basketball World Cup

The United States women's national basketball team won the Basketball World Cup for the fourth time in a row, after its outright victory over China 83-61 today in Sydney.

The US women have not lost a match in the international competition since the 2006 semi-final against Russia (68-75), achieving 30 consecutive wins.

The US team has dominated this tournament in recent years, with six crowns in the last seven editions, while holding the record with 11 titles out of 19, compared to 6 for the former Soviet Union crowned five times in a row between 1959 and 1975.

The US team has not lost in any major tournaments (the Olympics and the World Cup) in the last sixty matches, and won the last seven golds in the Summer Olympics.

Despite a renewal campaign that saw the retirement of the legend Sue Bird and the injury of Diana Torassi and the recruitment of a new coach, Sheryl Reeve, the Americans succeeded in controlling the tournament once again.
