Five young men including two minors were charged and incarcerated after the death of a 16-year-old boy on Sunday during a brawl in Bras, in the Var, announced yesterday the prosecutor's office of Draguignan without giving details on the mobile of crime.

These young people, including two minors of 15 and 17 years old, were brought before Wednesday afternoon. They were all indicted for assassination and aggravated willful violence with temporary incapacity for work of less than eight days, the deputy prosecutor of Draguignan Pierre Arpaia told AFP. The five boys were placed under arrest warrant, in accordance with the requisitions of the prosecution.

A still unclear mobile

"At the end of their hearings, all admitted having been present at the scene of the brawl and having participated in it to varying degrees," said a statement from the prosecution on Wednesday, stressing that "at this stage, the implications of each [ …] Remain to be specified ”and that“ the motive is not yet perfectly defined ”.

The events occurred on Sunday around 8:00 p.m. near the Bras stadium. Some 14 witnesses interviewed in the evening confirmed that a clash had taken place between two groups, with some young hooded men and armed with bats or knives.

The victim, originally from Manosque (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), stabbed, died shortly after being taken care of. Another 18-year-old boy was seriously injured.
