Five civil service unions, including the CGT and FO, launched on Friday a joint call to join the strikes and demonstrations scheduled for October 5 to defend jobs and wages.

"The trade unions representing the civil service CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires and FA-FP call on all civil servants and public officials to stop work on October 5, 2021 and to participate in the mobilizations organized with the sector private, ”write the five unions, which won nearly 60% of the vote in the last professional elections.

Wage defense

Four days before the opening of a conference on salary perspectives bringing together the public service unions and Minister Amélie de Montchalin, the signatories of the appeal ask for "the general increase in salaries by the revaluation of the point of index and improvement of the index grid ”.

They also plead for the “end of the reductions of posts and precarious jobs”, as well as the “abandonment of the 3DS bill” (differentiation, decentralization, deconcentration and simplification), which must be examined by the National Assembly in the end of the year.

In addition to the defense of wages and employment, the organizations involved in the October 5 mobilization demand the abandonment of unemployment insurance and pension reforms.

The CFDT (2nd) and Unsa (4th) did not join the call.
