The fire started under circumstances to be determined in one of the rooms of the institution for the elderly.

This Tuesday, a 90-year-old woman was seriously injured in a fire that broke out in the morning in an Ehpad in Ruoms in Ardèche, the prefecture said on its Twitter account.

The victim was helicoptered by the Samu to a hospital center in a state of absolute emergency, according to

Le Dauphiné.

Forty firefighters were mobilized to overcome the flames and take care of a hundred people.

Seven residents of the Le Méridien nursing home will have to be relocated to nearby establishments because of the damage caused by the fire, state services specify.
