For the Beijing Olympics next year, the selection criteria for the Japanese national team for figure skating have been decided, and the player who won the All Japan Championship in December will be selected as the highest priority for men and women singles.

The Japan Skating Federation held a board meeting in Tokyo on the 14th, and decided the selection criteria for the Japanese representative of figure skating for the Beijing Olympics next year.

In figure skating at the Beijing Olympics, Japan has won 3 slots for men's and women's singles, 1 slot for pairs, and 1 slot for ice dancing.

Of these, the player who won the All Japan Championship in December will be selected as the representative of the men's and women's singles with the highest priority.

In addition, the second player will meet one of the 2nd and 3rd place players in the All Japan Championship, the top 2 players in the Grand Prix Final where the world's top players will participate, and the top 3 players in the season's best score officially recognized by the International Skating Union. It is said that it will be judged comprehensively from among the players.

The third person will be judged comprehensively from the players who were not selected by the second person and the top three people in the ranking set by the International Skating Union.

Pairs and ice dance will be judged comprehensively from among the pairs and couples who won the All Japan Championship or ranked the highest in the ranking set by the International Skating Union.

If the competition related to the selection is postponed or not held due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the selection criteria will be set again.
