China News Service, June 23. According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) website, the FDA said on the 22nd that it is investigating a new report that another child died after eating Abbott infant formula.
The FDA said it learned of the death, which occurred in January, from a consumer complaint it received on June 10.
The FDA said the investigation is in the preliminary stages and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Earlier, multiple media reported that the FDA was investigating complaints of four infants infected with Cronobacter sakazakia and Salmonella Newport. The four infants ate related products from Abbott Laboratories and were hospitalized. One of the infants has reported die.
