  The online forum held on June 30 was hosted by the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and invited relevant government departments, experts and scholars, industry and migrant workers representatives to discuss together. The forum combines the latest data from the survey and long-term observations on the employment problems of migrant workers, and proposes strategies for promoting the employment of migrant workers, which provides a reference for employment security and industrial recovery after the epidemic.

  At the seminar, Wang Chunguang, deputy director of the Institute of Sociology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said that the employment of migrant workers is one of the employment issues urgently to be resolved in the current epidemic situation. At this seminar, the organizer introduced the preliminary results of the survey.

  Wang Junxiu, director of the Social Psychology Department of the Institute of Sociology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, introduced that the epidemic has a great impact on the lives of migrant workers. At the beginning of the epidemic, the willingness of migrant workers to resume work was very strong. Changes in the epidemic have complicated the market supply and demand relationship of labor. After the normalization of the epidemic, the situation of unstable employment of young migrant workers was temporarily eased.

  He analyzed that the increased autonomy of employment and the lack of job stability constituted the reaction force of migrant workers. For the future, this is actually not conducive to the citizenization of migrant workers.

  He said that for the migrant workers group, from stable employment to job security, it is the primary problem to solve the short-term employment of migrant workers and truly achieve urban integration.

  Chu Rongwei, a professor at Fudan University, said that it is necessary to truly return to migrant workers themselves, and to analyze in depth the passiveness and initiative of migrant workers' integration into cities, as well as career planning, job selection, unemployment and reemployment.
