“The Kiev Council approved the decision to award the great friend of Ukraine Boris Johnson the title of honorary citizen of Kyiv,” Klitschko said.
He also added that he was looking forward to Johnson's visit to the city to present the award.
Earlier, a petition appeared on the website of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to grant Ukrainian citizenship to Boris Johnson and nominate him as a candidate for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.
