Everything, everything, everything, you will know everything about Ligue 1. The French championship will start on the weekend of August 23 and this Thursday, the LFP has just published the full calendar of its competitions for the coming year. 20 Minutes summarizes everything you need to remember.

It contains 20 clubs

It's not really a surprise, but we weren't really immune to a big LFP ball with Toulouse and Amiens in the calendar and a 42-day season. We are kidding, but obviously, this calendar was designed as decided by the league with 20 clubs and therefore 38 league days. The legal battle, however, is not entirely over, since the Council of State must decide in the coming days on the call of the two clubs relegated to Ligue 2. Without the latter having much hope ...

A first day turned towards the Vélodrome

In general, the first days of Ligue 1 never offer a poster to drop your jaw. This year, however: a historic duel of our French football is on the program with an OM - Saint-Etienne at the Vélodrome. Or an ambitious duel, with a Lille-Rennes not disgusting. Otherwise, PSG will receive Metz and Lyon will go to Montpellier.

The classic very early in the season

While PSG will barely recover from its victory in the Champions League (!), OM will land at the Parc des Princes on September 13 for the account of the 3rd day. It's very early and rather unusual to put on the big poster for the season so early. Perhaps we can find a desire to strengthen the start of the season to launch the subscription campaign at the broadcaster level, Mediapro. In any case, know that we will have the same day one of the queen stages of the Tour de France, with the arrival at the Grand Colombier. In short, book your September 13th.

The big shocks scattered

No double days with two huge shocks, the LFP has scattered its matches with large audiences a little. We therefore talked about September 13 for PSG-OM, with a return on February 7. The Olympicos OL-OM will take place on October 4 and January 24, the OL-ASSE on November 8 and February 28, the PSG-OL on December 13 and March 21.

Most were set for Sunday 9 p.m. by the broadcaster, Mediapro.

D1: Marseille Olympics - AS Saint-Etienne

D3: Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique de Marseille, Sunday September 13, 2020 at 9 p.m.

D6: Olympique Lyonnais - Olympique de Marseille, Sunday October 4, 2020 at 9 p.m.

D10: Olympique Lyonnais - AS Saint-Etienne, Sunday November 8, 2020 at 9 p.m.

D14: Paris Saint-Germain - Olympique Lyonnais, Sunday December 13, 2020 at 9 p.m.

D16: LOSC Lille - Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday December 20, 2020 at 9 p.m.

D21: AS Saint-Etienne - Olympique Lyonnais, Sunday January 24, 2021 at 9 p.m.

D24: Olympique de Marseille - Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday February 7, 2021 at 9 p.m.

D27: Olympique de Marseille - Olympique Lyonnais, Sunday February 28, 2021 at 9 p.m.

D30: Olympique Lyonnais - Paris Saint-Germain, Sunday March 21, 2021 at 9 p.m.

A less busy start to the year 2021

This is the main advantage of the death of the League Cup, apart from the uninspiring matches: the Ligue 1 clubs will not have a busy start to the year in January 2021, which could allow European clubs to arrive less tired towards the final stages. Finally, a little less than usual, because the LFP took advantage of these new beaches to insert a few days called "weekdays". In total, there will be five midweek days in the season.
