Windows 11 is the latest operating system from Microsoft, and it was officially announced on June 24, and became available to users before the end of the same month.

In return for the advantages that the new system offers, it comes with rather high operating requirements, so that it looks like Microsoft is asking you to throw your new device in the trash and buy a new computer from its stores or recommended brands.

A lot of criticism has prompted it to modify these requirements, especially since it announced earlier that it would stop supporting Windows 10 in 2024.

Compatibility

At first, you have to decide which methods to take, manual or automatic, in order to install the new version.

So you have to start checking your device to see if it meets the requirements that Microsoft required to run “Windows 11” efficiently, and to do that you have to download the “PC health check” tool from here, and then after running it, you will be faced with two possibilities: Either you have the specifications, and here you will download " Windows 11” via the windows 11 installation assistant, or you, unfortunately, do not have it, and here you will have to upgrade manually.

In this case, you can activate Windows 11 through two methods in which you do not need to be a technical expert, which is downloading a copy with the extension "ISO", or by subscribing to the "Windows Insider" program.

But remember that these two methods are available if your computer is 64-bit architecture and also supports the "TMP 2.0" security feature.

ISO format

This method was not available before the official announcement of the latest Windows system, but it is the best option for those who do not want to use a "trial version", first you must have a flash memory.

To get started, first you have to go to the official Microsoft website via this link, then click on the second option "Create Windows 11 Installation Media".

Next, you will upload a file whose size does not exceed 9 megabytes, after you finish downloading it, open it, a window will appear asking you to agree to some terms of use, press "Agree".

After that, a window will open showing you the language and version that will be downloaded from "Windows 11" and will be customized for your device specifications.

Now you will be asked how you would like to download the "iSO" version, install your flash drive and select it from the window and then click "Next".

After the download is completed, go to the flash memory and select "Setup" to start downloading the copy of "Windows 11" on your device.

Subscribe to Windows Insider

If your device has all the specifications except for an 8th generation processor, you may need to sign up for the Windows Insider program and receive updates periodically.

This program has three official channels: the developer channel, the bet channel, and the release channel.

The three channels are very stable, but of course the third is the best.

To activate, go to the "Windows 10" settings, then click on "update & security", then select "Windows insider program", then click on "Get started".

The next step is to log into your Microsoft account, so if you don't have one, you need to sign up to complete the download steps.

Then you will choose "Link an account", add your account, and continue.

Here you will see the “insider” pop-up window, then choose the channel you want to download through (we will explain the developer channel at the end of this report), agree to the laws and security, then choose restart the device, now you will go to settings and choose updates and security, and choose Windows updates , and select "Check for updates" to receive the "Windows 11" update.

What if you do not qualify for the Windows Insider Program?

Or even if most of the required specifications are not present in your device?

Microsoft gives you the solution with an ISO file.

ISO file

This method is made available by Microsoft on its official website for those who do not have the necessary specifications and requirements for “Windows 11”, and it is a completely safe and legitimate method, but Microsoft has clearly stated that it will not be responsible for any technical malfunctions or poor performance, and will even make you see that statement in a window that will not Skip it until you hit OK.

To download this file, click here, and sign in with the account you used to sign up for Windows Insider.

Choose your preferred language, then you will be directed to the download page of the copy, and you have to take into account that this link will be available for 24 hours only.

After the download is completed, right-click on the file, select Open with "Windows explorer", then select "Setup" and install the program.

TPM 2.0 hitch pass

Many of us have relatively modern computers, but most of them are missing a basic requirement to upgrade to Windows 11 easily, which is the "TPM 2.0", which is a small chip on your computer's motherboard, sometimes separate from the central processing unit and main memory (1) The function of this chip is related to securing software and hardware, and it is an effective way to prevent system intrusion.

TPM 2.0 gives the device a fixed code, and it's impossible to modify the encryption keys unless the hacker somehow knows exactly what those keys are in advance.

“The computers of the future need a root of trust to help protect against common and sophisticated attacks such as ransomware, and more sophisticated attacks from nation states,” says David Weston, director of enterprise and operating systems security at Microsoft. Elevate hardware security by requiring a built-in root of trust.” (2)

The TPM chip connects to other security systems inside the computer, whether it's a fingerprint reader or Windows Hello facial recognition, it must match the TPM to allow users access.

It is not limited to security systems only, programs such as "Outlook", "Firefox" and "Chrome" also use "TPM".

Now, to install Windows 11 you will need this chip, but don't lose hope, there is a way to bypass it.

(3) First, download (MediaCreationTool.bat), unzip the zip file and open the following tool (Skip_TPM_Check_on_Dynamic_Update_v2) and give it administrator privileges (Run as administrator), here the tool will automatically bypass the "TPM 2.0" request, and then you can complete the attempt to install "Windows 11", You will see a message that your device does not meet the requirements, but the "OK" button will be activated, and then the system will be installed on your device.

Sign up via Developer Channel (DEV)

This step is for those who do not have any of the specifications at all, to the point that their devices may feel that they have an old Sakhr computer.

First, you have to enter Settings and Security from the Start menu on your computer, choose "Windows insider program" from the side menu, after you have finished selecting the account, and completing the subscription process, choose "Release preview channel" and then restart your device.

Here you will go to the start menu and type “regedit”, the first option should be “Registry Editor”, click on it, then agree to give permission to all the questions that will appear to you with the drop-down menu.

You will find many options and icons, use the following line in the address bar to reach our next destination: ((HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Application)).

Then more options will appear.

(4)

Now, find the option "BranchName" and double click, go to the "value" field, then choose "dev".

When you find the "ContentType" field, double-click it, then go to the "value" field and select "Mainline".

Just like the previous two steps, you will find the "Ring" option, then you will go to the "value" field and then "External".

In the event that you did not find any of the above three options, it is sufficient that you have completed the registration for the Insider program.

Once you restart your device and head to Insider, you'll find that you're already a developer, and you can upgrade to Windows 11 now with ease.

We still have a question that comes to the minds of many: When upgrading Windows will all the files on my computer be erased?

The answer is no.

You will not lose your data when updating to “Windows 11”, but if you do not like “Windows 11” and decide to go back to “Windows 10”, here you will lose all your data, so be sure to back up your important files on a flash drive or an external hard drive.
