Ghislaine Maxwell is accused of helping billionaire Jeffrey Epstein sexually assault young underage women between 1994 and 2004. While the trial of the British heiress opened Monday in New York, and the court described her as a "predator," she continues to plead not guilty.

On the first day of her trial in New York, prosecutors portrayed Ghislaine Maxwell as a "predator", a "tout" who attracted and manipulated teenage girls for Jeffrey Epstein, giving them confidence.

"A methodical plan" for a "pyramid scheme of abuse" with Jeffrey Epstein at the top.

The defense believes that Ghislaine Maxwell is a "scapegoat"

More than two years after the suicide in prison of her ex-companion Jeffrey Epstein, the British heir to newspaper mogul Robert Maxwell appeared agitated in court, repeatedly removing and putting his glasses back on his nose, thus passing many notes to his lawyers.

Ghislaine Maxwell is charged, among other things, with inciting illegal sexual acts for acts dating back to the period 1994-2004.

According to the prosecutor, the ex-socialite woman was more than a simple facilitator but "a partner in heinous crimes" of the pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

But according to her lawyers, Ghislaine Maxwell is a "scapegoat" for the assaults committed by her ex-partner.

A guideline that should be followed by the defense over the next six weeks.

It should also question the words and memories of the four anonymous complainants, two of whom were minors at the time of the facts.

A trial that will certainly be very popular, because of the links that Jeffrey Epstein maintained with the media and politics.

Ghislaine Maxwell, she denies everything.

She should not speak during the trial and risks life imprisonment.
