Emirates Airlines has confirmed that it has started operating limited passenger flights to transport Emirati residence holders who are outside the country and who wish to return from specific destinations to the Emirates.
The company said in a statement on its website, which Emirates Today viewed, that the currently available destinations for return flights include Frankfurt and London Heathrow.
Emirates Airlines stressed that strict entry restrictions will remain in effect upon arrival at Dubai International Airport, which includes mandatory testing by the Dubai Health Authority upon arrival, and a compulsory quarantine of 14 days.
According to the reservation data on the website, those wishing to travel on these trips must submit a “request for approval” to the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship through the “presence” service for residents in the UAE before making and completing the reservation.
The company stressed that the health and safety of dealers and crew remains a top priority for them, noting that all of its aircraft will undergo improved cleaning and sterilization operations in Dubai after each flight, noting that the travel restrictions related to the Corona virus are still in effect across many countries.
"We are closely monitoring the situation, and we hope to resume services as soon as conditions permit, and this includes receiving government approvals, easing travel restrictions and commercial demand," she said, noting that she will announce the resumption of service when she is in a position to do so.
