There was no quick way for world champion Mario Götze to get past the G-Youth of SV Nieder-Weisel.

The boys and girls sat on the stairs facing the playing field of the district upper league club and did not notice the new Eintracht star behind them.

Götze - accompanied by a bodyguard - needed patience.

The 30-year-old cautiously made his way to the changing room on the sports field in casual clothing and shook hands with the young footballer, who could hardly believe his luck at the unexpected encounter.

When the Eintracht team arrived in the team bus for the 14-0 win in the Wetterau, the passage was still free.

Götze, however, was the latecomer last Saturday.

Muscular problems prevented his first appearance in the Eintracht jersey.

Götze therefore drove in a private car near Butzbach.

After he had diligently signed autographs and taken selfies with the supporters, the playmaker, who had been rested by head coach Oliver Glasner, made the short journey back to Frankfurt during the half-time break.

No shot on goal for the eight-league club

Götze went through the training sessions in the first week of work “superbly.

After the second training session on Friday, he felt a little something,” said Glasner, classifying his non-consideration as a purely precautionary measure.

Götze was not urgently needed.

Even without their new flagship, the team met the requirements of their superiors: the Europa League winner scored many goals in front of 3,000 spectators in a duel with the overwhelmed opponent from the eighth division and also did not allow the amateurs to score.

Glasner was pleased with how "seriously" his players took the mandatory task.

With Ndicka (1 goal), Hasebe, Tuta, Rode, Lindström (1), Kolo Muani (3) and Alario (1), many established forces were on the pitch in the first 45 minutes.

After the half-time break, youngsters made up the majority of the squad, led by striker Goncalo Paciencia (3) and newcomers Jerome Onguene and Faride Alidou (1), who had voluntarily started training three days earlier than planned.

As a reward for the successful day's work, the pros were given the day off on Sunday.

And on Saturday they didn't have to do any more runs.

Kostic gets time

Eintracht is making targeted progress – this is the impression everyone involved gave after the “very positive first week of training” (Glasner).

From the football coach's point of view, the squad is "very well positioned in terms of quality and quantity.

I assume that we won't do anything if we don't lose any more players," said Glasner.

Among the candidates who could still leave the Champions League contenders are Filip Kostic and Evan Ndicka.

However, there were no offers from other clubs for either of them, said sports director Markus Krösche on Saturday.

Serbian international Kostic, who, like German national goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, is expected back in Frankfurt after his vacation on July 7, will be given time by Eintracht to think about his professional future.

After all, it was an "important decision" for Kostic in his career, said Krösche.

Ndicka is involved in training with great enthusiasm.

If the young French defender has thoughts of leaving, it doesn't show that.

New offensive makes mood

Sebastian Rode said something remarkable in Nieder-Weisel.

The captain judged that the current composition of the team is significantly better than last season.

The Frankfurt offensive has experienced the greatest revaluation.

The enthusiastic Randal Kolo Muani proved the goal threat he posed in his first game.

"He followed up immediately, was always present and calm in the end," Glasner was impressed by the Frenchman's "beautiful goals".

"And he wasn't above working with zurück."

Lucas Alario, who came from Leverkusen, also successfully completed the to-do list.

And Jesper Lindström even scored a free kick to make it 3-0.

"Finally.

I practice that very often and want to score more goals with it," said the Dane.

Glasner's overall impression is promising after the start of the preparation.

"We have a great squad with speed, routine, goal threat and playfulness." Eintracht will also need that, as they have big plans for the coming season.

“I see it as an obligation that we go one step further.

We can't rest," Glasner said in the Wetterau.
