The European Central Bank has kept its base rate at 0%.
This is stated in a press release on the ECB website.
The base rate has been at zero since March 2016. The deposit rate was also kept at minus 0.5%, while the margin rate remained at 0.25%.
Earlier, the head of the European Central Bank Christine Lagarde said that the regulator expects a serious improvement in the economic situation in the euro area in the second half of this year.
