Early voting for local elections to elect new local workers and superintendents for a four-year term started today (27th).

The turnout on the first day was 10.2%, slightly higher than in the local elections four years ago.

President Yoon Seok-yeol and major candidates from the ruling and opposition parties also visited the early voting booths today and cast their votes.

On the first day of pre-voting for local elections to select the heads of 17 regional organizations and 226 basic groups, the turnout was 10.2%.



It is 1.4 percentage points higher than the early voting rate on the first day of the June 13 local election four years ago.



The region with the highest turnout was Jeonnam with 17.3%, followed by Gangwon and Jeonbuk.



The major candidates from the ruling and opposition parties also finished early voting today.



In the Seoul mayoral election, Democratic Party candidate Song Young-gil cast his vote in Yongsan-gu, where his presidential office is located, and People's Power candidate Oh Se-hoon cast his vote in Gwangjin-gu, where his home is located.



Democratic Party candidate Kim Dong-yeon, who served as Gyeonggi governor, finished voting in Suwon, and People's Strength candidate Kim Eun-hye finished voting in Seongnam, respectively.



Democratic Party candidate Lee Jae-myung, who ran for the National Assembly by-election in Gyeyang, Incheon, voted in advance in the constituency, and People's Power Candidate Hyung-seon Yoon plans to vote tomorrow along with People's Power Representative Lee Jun-seok, who registered as his campaigner.
