Previously, on May 7, 2009, 4 games were held in double headers, and 8 games were played 10 times a day.



The reason why professional baseball played 9 games a day is due to the fine dust that covered the whole country.



Jamsil, Incheon, Suwon, and Gwangju, which were scheduled to be held on the 7th, were all canceled due to fine dust.



KBO decides whether or not to cancel the game when a fine dust-related warning is issued or when the concentration is exceeded.



An alarm related to fine dust is issued when fine dust more than 300㎍/㎥ or more than 150㎍/㎥ lasts for more than 2 hours.



In metropolitan areas such as Seoul, Incheon, and Suwon, the fine dust warning was issued from this afternoon, so the professional baseball game was canceled early.



In Gwangju, a fine dust warning was issued at 6 pm, and the baseball game was immediately canceled.



This is the first time that all four regular league matches have been canceled after KBO has made rules for canceling matches due to fine dust since 2018.



On April 6, 2018, three matches were canceled: NC Dinos-Doosan Bears (Jamsil), Hanwha Eagles-kt wiz (Suwon), and Samsung Lions-SK Wyverns (SSG Landers' predecessor, Incheon).



On April 15, 2018, the Lotte Giants-KIA Tigers match scheduled to be held in Gwangju was canceled.



In 2019 and 2020, there were no cancellations due to fine dust.



However, on March 29, at the end of this year's demonstration game, 4 matches were canceled due to fine dust.



If a demonstration match is canceled, it will not be reopened, but the regular league cannot miss a single match.



In the early season of fierce competition for rankings, professional baseball may fluctuate significantly depending on the results of the 9 matches held on the 8th.
