Dubai Electricity registers a patent for an automatic charging system for all electric vehicles

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority registered a new patent after researchers in its Research and Development Center developed an innovative system specialized in smart charging stations for electric vehicles that allows charging of all types of electric vehicles using a single cable and plug, whether vehicles that are charged by alternating current or direct current.

The new system contributes to making the design of charging stations as user-friendly as possible as it simplifies the charging process and allows electric vehicle drivers to charge their cars very easily without the need to bring appropriate charging cables to their vehicles.

The charging station adapts the cable and the charging process automatically to the vehicle's requirements, so that all electric vehicles are charged through one system, and the Research and Development Center is currently working on building a prototype for further studies.

The managing director and CEO of the authority, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, stressed the importance of this scientific achievement, which is added to the authority’s record of success and excellence, noting that the patent registered by the authority would provide an easy, innovative and friendly experience for the consumer and the environment, in addition to strengthening the authority’s position as one of the institutions The world's leading service provider.
