In Lower Saxony, a 71-year-old has strayed off the road with his car - and landed in a garden pond. Despite repeated accelerating he could not maneuver the vehicle from the predicament.
A landowner from the Sandbostel commune, police said, after discovering the car in his pond Lage. According to the caller, the driver was still in his car and kept pumping to get out of the pond.
